Life
There has been something on my mind lately that needs to be put down in words. How to start it is always the hardest for me. There is someone out there who will read this that needs to take it to heart. God's Word always goes out and accomplishes His purpose. It never comes back void.
Life is precious. It was created by God Almighty, The Great I AM. Life did not evolve! When have you ever seen an ape changing into a man? Or a worm into something else? This is only one man's ridiculous theory that has duped the supposed intellectuals ever since he (Darwin) wrote about it. This is not about evolution though. It is simply about life.
Each and every one of us are here for a reason and a purpose. God knew you in your mother's womb from the very start. There are plenty of Scriptures that tell us this. You may say that only applied to these special men of the Bible. No it doesn't! God is no respecter of persons. He loves each and every one of us. Take a look at some of the Scriptures below:
Gen 25:21
And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.

Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:
Isa 48:8
Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.
Isa 49:1
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
Isa 49:5
And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.
Jer 1:5
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:
Gal 1:15
But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
You will notice that God knew who would obey Him and who wouldn't, yet He still gave them life. I don't claim to understand or know all about this, but I am convinced that God is the Creator and Giver of life. Before He formed us, He knew us! Look at the Scriptures that speak of the cripple man and the lame man, both this way from birth. God used these men to be healed for the Glory of God.
These are not the only Scriptures that mention about God knowing us before the womb, and while in the womb, and bringing us out of the womb. God is in control of this!!! Yet, we feel we have to plan our families. We use birth control to delay having children until we are ready for them. Can this be okay with God? Not only do we delay what God has said is a blessing, but are killing the innocents!!!! Abortion is wrong, plain and simple!
Jer 2:34
Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
Do we not have enough faith to believe that God will take care of this area of our lives also? Why do we want to limit blessings from God? Is it because there are things you want to do with your life that you feel children will only get in the way of your accomplishments? What better accomplishment can a man or woman have than to raise their children to know the Lord God Almighty and to walk in His ways. It is a very satisfactory feeling of accomplishment to parents when their children are grown and living for the Lord. Now their children will raise their children in the same manner. If your heart is set on rising to the top of the corporate ladder, or becoming a famous actor, writer, singer, etc., you should truly re-think your priorities. Why would you let someone else take care of your children? Your children will learn and take on characteristics of those they are around the most. This world has nothing of worth or everlasting value to offer, but if you will allow God to set your path and obey Him, you will receive everlasting life with Him. How great would that be to show your children that you trust God for all your needs, so that they can learn to trust Him also?!
Ps 127:3
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Ps 127:4
As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Ps 127:5
Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Lu 2:23
(As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)
Some people who really want children are not able to have them. Let's take a look at some more Scriptures:
Gen 20:17
So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.
Gen 20:18
For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham's wife.
Gen 29:31
And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.
Gen 30:2
And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?
Gen 30:22
And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.
Jud 13:3
And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.
1 Sam 1:5
But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb.
Psalm 113:9
He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.
Luke 1:7
And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.
Luke 1:36
And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
Luke 1:37
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
More Scriptures to prove that God is in control. I don't know all the reasons God may choose to close a woman's womb, but nothing is impossible with God!
I'd like to share a true story with you about my own life regarding the womb:
As a young woman, I never gave a second thought to using birth control. My first husband and I agreed we'd wait a while before starting a family. We both worked full time jobs and thought we were in full control of our lives. I always thought I'd like to have a boy and a girl. I planned everything! Another thing I never gave thought to was whether I could conceive a child. I assumed I could. After about three years of marriage, I started trying to talk my husband into agreeing that we would start a family. He wasn't ready, but I kept on and on about it until after several months of my nagging, he agreed I could go off the pill. A few months later I was tested at the doctor's office and they said I was indeed pregnant. I was so happy and told everyone! Around the end of the third month, the doctor scheduled an ultrasound. During the ultrasound, the technician said she'd return in a moment. We thought this odd. She returned with the doctor. After they looked at the ultrasound together, the doctor sadly told us that there is no baby. We were shocked! The doctor said that once in a while the blood test will end up showing a false positive. I was too upset to return to work that day and stayed home to grieve.
About a year went by and still no pregnancy until one morning I woke up sick to my stomach. After several mornings in a row of this, I went to the doctor to have a blood test again. They knew me quite well in the lab. It tested positive, yet I refused to believe it. I told no one except my husband and he kept it quiet also. I went to my scheduled monthly check-ups and throwing up every morning while our sweet, Golden Retriever, Nugget, looked on in sympanthy. Finally, the fourth month ultrasound visit came. This time there really was a baby in there!! A girl!!! Now I could tell everyone! So, after five years of marriage, I conceived a girl.
I'm going to fast-forward here to my second marriage. My daughter was seven years old when I re-married. This was his first marriage and he had no children. We discussed it, but he felt we shouldn't bring any children into this miserable world. I think the real reason was that he thought he was too old. He was 45 when we married. Fourteen years my senior. I didn't agree, but held my tongue. I continued taking the pill.
Fast-forwarding again to our move to another state and both of us agreeing that we needed to get back in church. After about a year of giving our all to God, my husband and I were hiking one day. On our way back down the mountain, Hubby brought up the subject of birth control. He said, "If Christians are suppose to put all our trust in God in all areas of our lives, wouldn't that include letting God decide how many children we have"? I'd never thought about it before, but had to agree. We discussed it for quite some time and by the time our hike ended, we both agreed that I should quit taking the pill. A year or so passed and no pregnancy. I went to the doctor due to some lower abdominal pain I was having. They ran some tests and found out I had fibroid tumors. Many of them and one rather large. He was concerned as these had not been detected during previous exams and they are normally slow growing. He gave me the option of waiting and keeping an eye on them or having a hysterectomy to remove them. Finally, Hubby and I decided on the surgery as it was already causing me pain that wouldn't go away. So, at the age of 37, my ability to conceive children ended permanently.
I actually felt at peace and never agonized over our decision. I never questioned God why this happened or why I only had one child. The following year my husband had to have his third back surgery and had to retire from working. We went through a lot of changes, but held strong in our faith in God and he has blessed our little family.
The moral of this story is that no matter how much you plan your life, the unexpected will happen. The best thing is to trust God fully with your life whether He opens the womb or not. He has His reasons.
Something to think and pray about.
Blessings, Sharon

Thanks for sharing this, you are a sweet blessing.
Thankyou
Thank you for those words. In my struggle to have children, it was very hard for me to understand why I could never carry one more than a couple months. Why I couldn't have children when all around me were babies being aborted and people who didn't want their children. Why every time we tried to adopt a stumbling block came along. now i am content in my life without children and it is okay. I understand now that God knew our neice who has so many issues would need us to be her parents and to care for her.
Denise,
Sometimes it's not easy for me to open up, but the Lord has showed me that lessons I've learned might help someone else.

Mrs. M,
You're very welcome!

Michelle,
You are right. Sometimes we don't know why God does or doesn't allow something until later in life and we can look back and see His Plan. It takes a large amount of faith and trust in God to accept and be content with His Will. Remember when God told Abraham to leave his home and family, but didn't tell him where or what he'd go through, yet he obeyed God and was greatly blessed. :-)
What a great post...I KNOW that it was a lot of work and planning...THANK you....
To GOD be the Glory great things HE hath done...and is doing...
I pray many will read this and it will touch hearts..

Wonderful post. Thanks for all the time you took with it. I think having the verses there was wonderful!
Children are such a blessing from the Lord. I think sometimes people think that a blessing requires no work - but children require MUCH work - yet still they are a blessing.
Thanks for sharing,
~Martie

Martie,
I feel that it is important to include Scriptures to prove God's point. I'm glad you enjoyed reading this.
Yes, children are a LOT of work, but they are so precious and able to be molded in the right way if parents would just take the time and effort required.

Theresa,
Lol! Yes, it was very long, and I'm glad you thought it was worth reading. :-)
Wonderful post. On the way to work yesterday and today I listened to John McArthur's talks on Jeremiah on my iPod. He talked about how he knew from the time Jeremiah was conceived that he would be His prophet. You never know what divine purpose your child might have. (Or a child you would be given to raise, in Michelle's case.)
