Jesus Christ, My Love

I have been spending more time than usual reading God's Word. I have fallen deeper in love with my Savior, Jesus Christ. I cannot explain in mere words, but shall try.

When you are abiding in Christ, He is abiding in you. You are one with Him and the Father. You have such overwhelming love for everyone. Not just those that are easy to love and love you back, but love for those that are hard to love. Jesus commands us to love everyone just as He does. Love is mighty and powerful. If you keep showing love and concern for those that treat you less than kind, you will blow their minds. They cannot understand how you can be so nice when they are treating you so bad. At some point, they will tire of testing you and will want to know how you do it.

Being a Christian is not easy. We have to battle the flesh that keeps telling us, "You have a right to defend yourself"!..."You can't let them get away with saying that to you!"..."Give them what they deserve"!

This battle will not end until Jesus takes us home to be with Him, so put on your armour and get your battle plans in order, because Jesus is our Leader and will help those that call on Him.

Love is:

1 Cor. 13:4
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

1 Cor 13:5
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

1 Cor. 13:6
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

1 Cor. 13:7
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

1 Cor. 13:8
Charity never faileth:

We must empty self and let Jesus fill us with Himself.

You may ask how we are to do this.

1. We are to abide in Him by reading His Word daily and praying.

2. Practice doing something kind for someone each day.

3. Pick something of yours that you treasure and give it to someone you don't think is deserving of anything good.

4. Put your mind more on helping others.

5. Make sure that you are putting God first in all areas of your life. (As a mother, it is easy to spend too much time with the children and say you don't have time to read your Bible or pray daily.)

This life we have here on earth is our training session. Don't waste one precious minute. Jesus came to save the lost. We are to do the same. If we act like the world and talk like the world, then we cannot be like Jesus, and we will fail in our attempts to save the lost. Because the lost of this world knows that true Christians are suppose to be different.

The lost are just people that are hurting deeply and needs someone to show them love. They've had enough hurts. Let's show them how good it is to follow Jesus and spread His Great Love.

Amen! Thank you for this post. It blessed me today. I agree, when we are all soaking up The Bible, we fall more in love with God and with others as well. I know what you mean! It makes me love and enjoy reading the Bible so much. Reading the Bible sure helps put things into perspective.
I yearn to be a godly mature woman. I have so much to work on and so much growth to do. But I truly belive that spending time with God in prayer and reading His word is how to make it happen.
Thank you for this lovely post today. I loved it.

Less of me and more of Him! Yes!! :o)
Lovely post, Sharon. [And John 15 ~ the "abiding" chapter ~ is one of my favorite chapters.]

Sharon beautiful words from God... when I was a teenager I belonged to A "Youth for Christ" group... we had speech contests and the 13th chapter of 1 Cor. was one of the things scriptures I competed with...
that has long since been one of my favorite scriptures.. not only is the scripture very true.. but each time I hear or read it... I am always taken back to that time in my life

Sharon, I have found myself WANTING to spend more time with my Lord lately. Of course there is no other place I can receive comfort and peace like in His presence.

It's easy to get caught up in the work of the Lord without spending time with Him. This is never what He intended. And besides, if we don't spend time with Him, (in prayer and reading His word) we will never be able to be effective in any ministry.

The more we spend time in His presence, the more we become like Him, therefore being able to conform to behavior expected from us outlined in the scriptures. This is the only way.

This is a wonderful post that has been refreshing!
